Any one ever made a old 3+3 into a "new crew cab".... I have a 06 GMC crew cab.... (it says z71 on the side and has a button that says 4x4 but I don't think it has ever seen 4 wheel drive)((side note... sorry :wink1:)) and would LOVE to have a old 3+3 with 4 full doors and a 5 foot "short" bed like my GMC..... there is a CHERRY!!! 3+3 on flea bay now.... Click here that would be great to start with.... I want to see pics... I would think you could use a long bed truck frame and put the 3+3 cab on it and shorten the bed... people bob beds and make them look factory... why can't you do that? I would love to have on ecummins powered with a NV4500 on about 36 or 37 inch tires... about as high as my Blaz-R..... post some pics or something guys :D

That's my exact build right now...

'87 Crew cab, 136" wb, 5'6" bed (shortened down 8 foot bed) D60 front, 14 bolt rear, ~6" lift (possibly 4") NV4500/np205/np203 triple stick, 37's or 38's. '76 front clip (round headlight).

Should look like this, but not as tall and not as much tire. This is a slight chop of someone's rig here (Diciples performance)

MTMike built one even shorter at 127 in wheel base.

Im planning an even Shorter 121 in wheel base crew cab on my 79.

Once you get shorter than 132" or so you start having cab clearance problems, which i didn't want to deal with...

Youre right, Im gonna have to hack off the cab corners to keep my SWB.
But IMO its worth it.....love the short wheel base:D

I must not know how to search from crap.... where can I find a little more info?

No build thread until i make some progress. I'm in the midst of the boring part...complete disassembly.

Further details include making it a bunch more civilized than my K5 was. Real paint, carpet, stereo and prolly power windows. Still debating engine. I have my 6.2 from the K5, but seeing as it wouldn't be a daily driver or anything I'm thinking of a big block.

The 5 speed, doubler and diffs i already have.
