I just bought another set of plugs and my heads take the tapered seat kind.
The delco plugs I just got are the gasgeted type??
The counterman said that they have done away with the tapered seats and now all of them are gasgeted.

Anyone else run into this or is this guy clueless. He said he called them and asked about it and that is what they told him.

He's absolutely clueless. :surepal: The gaskets are for the flat style seats only.

yea the guy is clueless. delco makes both. R45TS are a tapered seat, R45S are a gasket plug with a 13/16" hex.

***HIJACK***
anyone have a delco plug number for the gasket style with a 5/8" hex, the one i have right now are a 13/16" and are VERY hard to get in.
***END HIJACK***

T is for tapered

also you can get R45TSX

they are longer electrode, better spark farther into the chambers, they are what i run on all my tapered seat plug chevies

quicker kaboom in cylinders, and no fouling

r45ts are crap

good luck

run away from there as fast as you can...That dude has lost it to think tapered seat plugs have been obsoleted. Tell him to look in the front of the Delco book: tells you all kinds of neat things.

The CR43TS I use in my BBC for instance:

C: Commercial
R: Resistor
4: Thread size in this case 14mm
3: Heat range
T: Tapered Seat
S: Extended Tip
