New tailgate! (Edit new updates!)

Got a new manual tailgate and glass for the old k5 today, my brother and I are getting it back on the road this year, and it needed a piece of glass for the rear, some exhaust work and some rust repair. So its my new project!

Thanx man! And ya I got lucky and the tailgate i found was in a bit better shape than my electric, so for now it's just on to keep the rain out, but it's gotta be taken apart and freshened up when I get some no rain days!

well i tore into the K5 Jimmy this weekend, and this is what i found. this is the passengers side inside b-pillar structure

looks like i got my work cut out for me! any tips or ideas what to do in these areas? i don't know how weld...

Thanks man I've got to start cutting up cardboard templates.

Dont give up on it! It looks bad at first. But when you get all the cancer cut out, you will have nice clean metal to attach the new stuff to. Oh and get a welder and learn to weld lol. Or find somebody that can.

Yup thats for sure! My Brother who works at a GM dealership said the way body guys are doing new panel replacement is a special panel glue, so I'm gonna look in that, but ya i gotta make it look worse before it will be better!

Well she went off to the welder yesterday, hope to have it back in a few days and finally get some plates for it!! More pics to come when I get her back!

No more holes!! Just gotta seal up the small spaces then it goes back together!!

Oh and here's a shot from today i was coming home from work and saw it on its way back, it was some weird randomly seeing my truck go by me!

drove it 12 miles today, what a feeling of accomplishment!
