New tailgate needed. ??

I would like to buy a new tailgate for my 85 k5 but for some reason I can not find a repro. One. Anyone know of any companies that make one for this year? Thanks

Nobody makes one. I called motor city k5 that use to carry aftermarket tailgate shells and he said they have been discontinued but couldn't say why. Your only option is to find a used tailgate in good condition. Car-part.com has some nationwide but expect to pay a premium for tailgate plus shipping.

Years should be 73 to 91. 73 to 75 is questionable but i think they are the same.

No one has made a reproduction unit for 6+ years now.

Used only or switch to a truck tailgate and soft top or diy hatch
