Instead of just cutting a hole out I think I'm going to cut the whole thing of and use a piece of angle iron to mount the springs

I'll probably do it this weekend...maybe

If the angle Iron I have is long enough

Yeah thats the plan

I have some 5/16" for that

The spring location needs to be offset outwards from the frame a few inches, so it'd be a bit more involved than your sketch. You can see the offset in this pic.

They're pretty easy brackets to make, for me my time was 'free' compared to buying a set.

I ran them on my K5 for a few months before I parked it, stripped the drivetrain and sold the rest. The brackets went with the K5. They worked just fine...

I was actually adding to the stock brackets, not making them from scratch

I think It turned out decently

I only did one today

Yeah it actually did turn out pretty decent, should look kind of like ORD's

I'll have about 10 bucks in it total which makes it even better

And the stock bracket is really easy to cut. They must not use as strong as steel so it's easier to stamp.

And I can also use the factory brace that bolts into the hole that I left, should be pretty beefy when I'm done.

thats a great idea! thanks man you just saved me $200 bucks!:D

I only had around 500 to do the whole build, so I have to do it the cheapest way possible

I'm down to 300 at the moment :(

Mounted

I don't usually paint stuff nicely
