Finally going to replace our feathered and cupped Toyo AT 2’s. Put new springs on and fixed a few other steering items so hopefully a new set will wear better.

I’m looking at the Toyo AT3’s or the Falken Wildpeak 3 or 4. The Falkens are about 7lbs heavier than the toyos. I’m on 31’s with 3.08 gears and 350/sm465.

Anyone have experience with these tires or advice on weight?

I have been running the Falkens (AT3) on my work truck ( 235/85/16, 2006 Ford ranger with cover/equipment about 600-700 lbs constant load, 40,000 miles now and about done) and Dodge 3500 dually ( 245/70/17, about 5000 miles so far). The work truck sees a good amount of mild offroad like pastures/mud. The 3500 sees some dirt road stuff but mostly roads with a fair amount of time towing. Very little snow/ice here in Georgia, mostly mud.

Tires ride well with no balance issues, almost no road noise, and good wear. Good traction in sloppy ground, cow lots, muddy red clay roads, dry sandy roads, etc. Dually fronts are showing a little cupping as it's time to rotate, but no more than every other tire I've run on it in the last 16 years.

I like these tires and will likely continue to use them.

I am not on the Toyo train anymore. My 2019 Toyos look like 1991 swampers. My 2021 looked the same. My 2023 still look good but that’s not saying much.
My wholesaler stopped recommending Toyos within a year or two because of the visual problems so quickly relative to the nitto/toyo of the early 2010s which seemed to get 70k no problem on a diesel one ton. Miles are still good but not that good. I’m betting I’ll get 50-60k on my cclb 06 dodge.

I will not be getting a sixth set of Toyos after these go. Not sure what I’m gonna do.

I’d like to try the Falken at4w but they are 7lbs heavier than the toyos. Blazer is already heavy, not sure adding more weight makes sense.

with the already heavy rolling resistance, i don't think the 7 lbs per would be noticeable.
Never thought of it that way. I pulled the trigger on the Falken at4w. Discount tire said that if I don't like them I can swap them within 30 days.

the last set of 31's i ran were Cooper AT3's. 41 lbs each. but that was mostly all road driven. but never had an issue. the 33's on my other truck was BFG k02.

I have Cooper at3 on my buggy, and our coach, the coach doesn't "off road" but does travel on un improved trails like KOH and similar, haven't been stuck yet.
I did get the Buggy stuck in the sand at KOH 1 year. 1st my air pressure gauge lied to me. Gauge said 13 psi actual was 18psi. Was doing ok driving up the draw till a little one on quad crossed in front and I had to lift, then it was all over. Had to pulled out by a Raptor, very embarrassing. I think if I had been properly aired down I would have driven out.

I have Falken WP3's on my 68 K10 LB wood truck. SO much better than the last few rounds of BFG and Toyo. I live up a canyon and they like to feather, but every straight axle 4wd I've driven in the canyon does as well. They are quiet and balanced with very little weight.

I have a new set on my K5. Wow what a difference in Moab. Great sandstone traction, and quiet on the highway!20231022_142304.jpg

Did a set of Yokahama MT in 32-11.5r 15 on my 90. Really like them so far. And really quiet for an mt.
