Thought I would just say hello in here. I've been looking around a couple of weeks now. I recently inherited a 94 and a 77 Blazer earlier in Jan this year both 1 owner vehicles, my step dad. Not sure of plans yet other than for sure putting a motor in the 77 and other stuff as well on it. 94 runs right now and I use it when I go to the house to run around. Anyhow looking forward to getting motor and other information from you folks and the site as well. Thanks

She's been used. Inside dirtier than the outside to me. Been up in the sierras outside of Sacto for the last 45 years or more. They used the 94 mostly though once they bought it. I look forward to getting a new motor in it and get it road worthy. Going to clean it up next trip there in a couple of weeks on the outside.

I appreciate that imiceman44. I was back and forth to Lincoln 3 or 4x week last year for 7 months until stepdad passed. Nice area. Vehicle about 45 minutes outside of marysville. I may be towing vehicle over to grass valley to possibly work on it next month back and forth between there and AZ currently
Grass valley is 45 minutes away from me.

no signs of mice inside of it k85 octane. Crawled under it to change oil and there were a ton of spider webs so got change done quickly. Gonna tarp it next trip in a few weeks and throw a few bug bombs under it. Surprisingly not bad overall after sitting for all these years. Had to change one tire on it. Threw what looked to be the original spare on it to level it up. Armstrong tire in excellent shape and they been out of business for about 40 years now. Hoping to try and start next trip possibly
Don’t just put a battery in it and hit the starter. If the rings are stuck, you can break a ring. I like to put a ratchet on the crankshaft and work it back and forth till I make a full rotation.
Lube the hood hinges first thing before you kink that minty hood in half. Love the black one. Always wanted a GMT400 blazer/tahoe.
So the motor is *bad* and you want to change it, or you simply feel a newer engine will be better? You could leave it untouched and sell it for a mint *as-is*, for somebody else to discover all the mysteries.
If you're going to turn the engine, pull the plugs some days ahead and shoot oil down there to be sure there's some lube to the rings. Then work it by hand as stated above. And of course, check all of the fluids.
