finally had the chance to buy a new to me k5 picked it up bone stock 1980 exept for the rebuilt 350 i have a lot of ideas but dont know where to start it all needs to be gone over in and out but first thing is first having trouble finding original seatbelts that bolt to the seat not to the floor so kids can ride safe any ideas where to find them would be apreaciated

I don't think k5's ever came with seat mounted belts...mine where all mounted to the floor/B pillar, same with my 78/80/85 p/u's.

99 and up p/u seats have the belts mounted to the seat in front, but rear bench's still go to the floor.

1st post and already a paid member......classy move! :thumb:

My personal mantra for build priority:

1. Safety items first (like you're doing)
2. Reliability items next, so you don't break down for stupid reasons
3. Performance - lift, gears, lockers, etc

There are plenty of knowledgable guys around here as I'm sure you already know....they'll help you get things sorted out.

:usaflag:

the botton is mounted to the seat in the center and three middle ones on the rear bench are mounted to the seat so it can tilt foward the ones on the floor are only on the b piller and next to the wheel wells

I recently just found out the belts go from the inside to the outside on the rear seat, but i know what your talking about now. Lots of guys on here should have a spare set laying around, im sure someone will chime in.
