Just shook hands on this yesterday. 76 K20, 350/sm465/np205. Runs good, drives decent. A couple of small patches of rust in the drivers floorboard, no biggie. $3500.

My question is the price includes a paint job that he was going to do this coming week. I was thinking of going with the stock blue. Should I leave it the way it is or have it painted?

Decisions decisions decisions...

Any reference on his skills?
If he's a top notch painter sounds like a win win

That truck ain't anywhere near to ready for paint from that pic. That tells me a lot about the level of skill and care that would go into the paint job. Hack and splash...hope it sticks, better change my number just in case.

Does that mean $1500 and you just take it?
If so your call depending on what your end use is

Yeah I don’t think it’s going to be a high dollar paint job. He told me the guy that was gonna do it owes him a favor but basically it was gonna be a smooth out the rough spots and shoot it.

My plans for it aren’t a restoration or anything like that. Just add it to the fleet and drive it till my 13 year old takes possession of it in a couple of years.

Sounds like a pass on paint job
What's the price straight up?

Hell let him paint it. It would get it into one color and make it shine.
Don't count on a great job and you will be fine.

The basis of all good paint jobs is the foundation and body work. A paint job over rough bondo and rust is not a paint job. I'd drive it like it is...maybe you could make a deal with him to shoot it when you have the body ready for paint?
