So I picked this guy up for dirt cheap and I want to rebuild it. Probably new head and piston and carb, new gaskets convert to electronic ignition and a few other things. It's a older saw says made in West Germany on it. I'm excited to work on it.
It's more dirty than anything and parts wise most of its still available and to get a good running one would cost more than the parts to fix this one. And I bought parts allready. And I picked it up for 30 bucks so I gotta try.wow she had a ruff life ......
might be worth more in parts to be honest .
otherwise good luck and keep us up to date on the build .
Good to know ty!Make sure when you get it running that you run lead additive in it.
My dad's Stihl was old like that and the service guy he went to told him too for some reason.
I ordered a fuel tank off e bay it's a good used tank, most of the parts available for this guy are all old.I would be wary of Chinese repop parts with the older stihl, I had bad luck with a jug for my 044 that wasn't oem quality.
