Hi everyone,
So i got my first blazer a 1990 w/ silverado pkg. it is stock with a 4" block lift and and added leaf spring.. The problem is the lift puts a strain on the transfer case seal and its leaking, I dont want to replace it until i fix the angle issue. Can anyone recommend a solution to my problem? I was told to look into a drop down bracket for the transfer case by the original owner but that sounded like a cheap fix..

Welcome to CK5 first of all. There isn't a better source of tech info on K5's anywhere, or a better group of people.

As for your issue, as hokey as it sounds, dropping the T-case down a little isn't the end of the world. If you look at the T-case fastening, you'll see some spacers above the frame. These are there to allow for some bolt stretch when tightened so they stay tight. If you unbolt them and slip the spacers between the cross member and the frame it'll drop the T-case down an inch, and greatly reduce the angles you currently have. This may help the weeping at the T-case output seal, it'll certainly make the rear driveshaft/U-joints happier.

Ultimate solution is a fixed output on the T-case, and a CV shaft. I've run a spaced down T-case for a few years now with no ill effects.

I have also been running the same spacer swap on mine as well for abut 3 years now with no real issues at all :waytogo:
 
Great! thank you I will give it a run.. when i get more serious about restoring it is there a yoke system or something that i can get a solid setup out of?
 
Welcome, now take your wallet out and leave it open on the dashboard so you don't get injured by the money being sucked out or the heat from your credit cards.

As usual good advice in the replies.
