Has anyone here done a vortec motorswap with a later vortec motor as in a 2000 after all the extra stuff was added to the computer for anti theft and used a harness from fuel injection specialists and had them program your computer ??????? just wondering if anyone has any sugestions. Motor is just sitting in the truck as of thismorning but hope to start on the eletrical tonight any ideas on how to make it easier or anthing i should be careful about let me know. I just hope the headach is worth it

By the way this site is awsome

Welcome aboard! What year truck is this going into? What tranny to what tranny? Never done a high end swap like this myself but I'm sure you'll get good feed back from some one on here. Good luck!

Nothing fancy

The rig is an 85 that had a swapped in 350 crate motor that was old and tired so i started looking for somthing else to put in found a deal on this 2000 5.7 from a yukon denoli and well couldn't pass it up was just goin to put a holley truck avenger on it and maybe an aftermarket fuel injection kit but a friend talked me into keeping the factory fuel injection. other than that it's the factory 10 and 12 bolt axels and 700 and 208 transfer case

would anyone here know if you need the vortec bell housing bolts to bolt up a old 700 to it ? Cann't get the old bolts to go all the way in or just wondering if the holes for them aren't as deep?
