I just installed my 6" skyjacker full spring lift in my 1990 k5. I took it for a ride and WOW this thing was all over the road and the vibrations were major. i also did the ORD ZERO RATE blocks and the shackles. i have sence had the stock driveline redone with little improvement. I really want to get my 14 bolt done and my SYE KIT installled on my tcase before i do my cv driveline but i dont want to damage anything , any advice. the vibrations are tallerable but if i am going to destroy my tcase or tranny i need to make some adjustments.

when exactly are the vibrations happening?
who installed it?

sounds like it needs shims redone, at least for the front

i installed the lift and the vibrations are at 5-10-35mph then go away and smooth down the road i have sense checked all tire pressure and torqued all bolts for the second time and handling got better feels like it should for the short wheel base with 35" mud tires but the vibrations are still there.

OMG, hold on. I wont yell cause it appears you're new here, but everyone is a stickler for proper punctuation. It just makes reading things easier, which everyone wants while trying to help. If it's hard to read, folks skip the post or thread all together, myself included.

BTW, Welcome to the sickness that is your chosen hobby. Dunno your experience with these things, but CK5 will more than likely fill your head with all kinds of ideas that create trouble.

Is this the first time you've had 35's on the truck. If so, is your steering tight? Meaning, your rod ends and rag joint on the steering shaft. If any of it is warn, good lord bigger tires sure makes it worse.
Do you have an angle finder? If so, post up your angles for the T-case, driveshaft, and pinion. If you can drop the T-case down and inch, using some spacers, try it. See if it helps. With 6" you might need to, not always, but might need to. This would be a good temporary fix until you get your driveline situated.

I have a 91 with 6 inch springs in the rear, 1 inch zero rates, 6 degree shims, and 1 inch drop on the transfer case and couldn't get rid of the vibrations until I got my cv drive shaft. Your probably out of luck until you get the rest of your driveline built.

Why would you yell and get so frustrated with someone on a forum designed to be an open communication for problem solving and advise. If you want to answer the question, that is great, but don't make them feel like they are privlaged for your advise. Next time if you are going to bitch, follow you own advise and don't respond.

Unhelpful hijack on

Yo cacman, any update? I think you're stuck with the vibrations until you do a CV shaft. But like I said, you might want to give a transfercase drop a try. Cut some 1" square stock and use it for spacers between the frame and trans/ TC crossmember. Try that for a good temporary fix.

seschev3,
Thank you very much. I have not replied to anything due to the fact of being ripped on my english skills. Just the fact it was my first post and got spit on my first one i was not sure if this was going to be the best place for advise on a project out of the garage. A good friend of mine and from the looks of yours have pretty bad ass rigs, and also have been members for awhile.
Looks like you may have been correct on the motor mounts, so I am going to replace them before going to lowering my tcase as that is not the best for the rig. I am looking forward to getting the 1 ton running gear completed, Then all of this temp stuff can go to the for sale bin LOL. Good luck and thanks for the support!

WOW, first thing I would look at is some thicker skin.

I have to agree with K85 Octane on this one. He was not dissing on you, he did, in a very polite way give some advice that would give you a better experience here. I didn't get the feeling that he was giving you the privilege of his advice on the forum.

Dry your tears, throw out your questions "with proper puntctuation" and see how much help you get. Dont get all butt hurt, learn and move on.

Jesus...... Was looking for help, not trouble. My grammer may be rough, but i can slow down and edit. Got it! Thank you to thoose who have already helped answer the question about my original concern. Which I am in the middle of changing out my motor mounts now, Hopefully that will help.

Jesus...... Was looking for help

Hey man, there is tons of help here for you. This is the best group of guys that I have come across and they will help you out the the "nth" degree.

Make sure to try a search first and then post up, you will be pretty amazed.

No harm, No foul. Good luck man :waytogo:

I'm probably one of the most laid back people you'd ever meet :waytogo:. So what I said was merely (sp?) a suggestion, followed with whatever help I could give. I'm new to trucks and only have whatever experience my project has forced upon me :doah:. You are in the right place, your time will not be wasted here. (unless ur in the lounge:haha:) And it's cool of you to pay the membership so quick, right on :waytogo:.
Try the motor mounts, even if they don't help...at least you replaced worn parts. But always post up (if you can) the outcome of trying something that works. Later, someone might come across your thread in a search effort, and BAMMM....they have their answer. Plus we all like happy endings. :) We like info and PICTURES!!! Horny for pics, always. Which reminds me, there are no pictures of your ride.:deal:

You'll probably see this often:
:sign6:

I am trying to upload a pic, but having some trouble. I will keep trying, not as computor savvy as some, so we will see.

I didn't take K85's post that way at all. You guys are reading into it way to much. Anyhow, fix it right the first time and cry once or jury rig it 10 times and cry a bunch. Either way it is up to you. Just get your measurements and go either online or to a reputable local driveline shop and get your DS made. Remember anytime you lift any truck you need to address, gearing, braking, driveline, tire, transmission and steering issues. If you aren't prepared to do that don't lift it.

Hey octane, whats up? Well since we last talked made a few updates to the rig. I did change out my motor mounts and had the driveline corrected , that did help a bit, but the bottom line is, it is just too much pinion angle. So with all that being said I started to gather parts to get the rig built right. First I picked up a 14 bolt ff. Then added the disk breaks, 4:88's, and the detriot locker. I have been struggling with the decision on wether or not it's worth keeping the 10 bolt front and changing it to 8 lug and crossover or going to the 44. Ultimatly I wanted the dana 60 but price and availablity have been holding me back. Well........... I found my dana 60. So I will pick that up this weekend. Oh, and I have also been working on a cool mod,.. On board air! I picked up a york compressor and fabricated a bracket to mount it to the side of my motor. When I get some more money, I will get the air tank from onboardair.com. This is going to be really sweet when its done. I will take some pic's of the install when its complete and post them. Also, I will include some pic's of the rig and her new legs after I get them installed. Later!
