New tow rig - diesel (new to them too)

I just picked up a tow rig for the blazer - 2000 Super Duty with the 7.3 power stroke. I've been reading up on maintenance, etc, but want to ask what oil do you recommend, and anything else I should think ahead about. Do I need to change the fuel filter often, etc?
