Well I have been himing and hawing over buying a pre-fab cage for awhile now while keeping an eye out for used ones. I have been researching benders and reading tech articles and reviews and just about anything I can find. My wife told me for my birthday she would go halves with me on a bender so I finally made a decision and called. Great guys to talk with.

Total came to $1365 shipped with the 1.5" and 1.75" dies. They threw in the 240* dies upgrade if I ordered today :D Now I gotta find out if she'll kick in half on the tubing :wink1:

Damn, Maybe now I can order an extra die. Didn't know they were having a sale. Thanks for posting.

In Bend Tech Pro you can design your entire cage, and view it from all angles before you cut or bend one piece of tube. Plus you can also print out all the cutting wrappers for every notch in your assembly. If you have a hole saw notcher it will tell you where and at what angle to make your notch. The Bend tech software definitely makes tube bending a lot easier......and less wasted tube.

I'll check out the EZ when I get it. What are the biggest benefits of pro?

Man, I must not do very well at bending manually if this is considered a huge amount of wasted tube for an entire cage. I think I used the three longest pieces after all aswell. :D I guess I need more practice bending :wink1:.

If that's all the tube waste you have, then you're doing an excellent job. Not everyone is as talented as you though :wink1:

I'm not saying you have to use the Bend Tech software to have good results, it just makes life easier for some of us. Plus it makes it possible for those of us that are math challenged to do some cool tube bending.

Any update on bent tube? Seriously thinking about getting a bender. Either the protools or jmr. Pro Tools has the same special for August. Is the software pretty easy to use? I have a free version from JD2's website but can't figure out how to use it.

The free bending software on JD2's website is not Bend Tech. It is a poor attempt at copying it. I have not attempted to use it, but I haven't heard of anyone having good luck with it. The tube bending software you want is here http://www.bend-tech.com This is the original tube bending software and is quite easy to use, and affordable to get started in. You can buy the basic version to get started, and once you outgrow it (believe me you will) you can upgrade to the next level for just the difference in cost. You can also go to this forum for more insight on tube bending and Bend-Tech http://www.offroadfabnet.com
