I just bought an 86 suburban for $1000. Very little rust (for N.Y.) 3/4 ton, 454, th400. 2wd. I have an 85 4x4 burb with a blown motor and serious body cancer. If I take everything from the springhangers down, is it an easy swap? Frame the same size between a 2 and 4wd? the 4wd is only a 1/2 ton, the 2wd was a 3/4. Anyone converted a 2wd th400 to a 4wd? keeping the 2wd steering box would be the first step in crossover steering? Sorry so many questions, any help would be appreciated.
