New Turbo 400 Starting Shifting Late When Weather Got Cold

Brand new crate turbo 400 tranny probably has maybe a couple thousand miles on it at best...

Started shifting late when weather changed and got cold...

Fluid level is at correct level and clean...

No matter how cold it is there is firm engagement when you put it in reverse or drive, it also gets firmer when it warms up...

I really noticed it when the weather went from a hundred and stupid in the summer to 29f around christmas...

This is a seldom driven, unabused hunting truck and has seen little use since the tranny was replaced, everything seemed fine till the weather changed idk wtf why...

if i take off before it idles for like 20 minutes it will not shift...

Scratching my head on this one.

Any ideas?

I would look at the vacuum modulator and the line going to it. First, pull the vacuum line off and see if there is any trans fluid in it. Should be zero sign of fluid. If you have one, test it with a hand vacuum pump to see if it holds.
If it does, check the line up at the intake manifold to see if it feels tight, maybe it has a rubber connector that is loose when cold?

No atf in vacuum line, vacuum line good, good vacuum, saw no issues with modulator valve or governor... guessed must be Bad CCP China Vacuum Modulator... bought a Made In USA one, all's good again.
