My first post as a paying member is a n00b question for you guys.

I have a realitively stock 89 Blazer (full size, of course), and I'm looking at buying some new rims and tires.

I have a few picked out that I like, but don't want to plop down the $$$ without making sure I buy the right ones.

I did some searching throughout the forum, but didn't find my specific question answered yet (unless I'm blind).

What I'm going to buy is a set of 33x12.50x15's and a new set of 15x10 wheels (probably black steel). I have stock suspension, and no lift (something for the future, probably).

My question is just what backspacing and offset am I looking at that will work? I know the bolt pattern is 6-5.5, but don't know the other specs I need for them to fit.

If you guys know what will work, that would be great. I'd prefer no heavy modification to make them work. I am looking at a set that have a backspacing of 3.75 inches with no offset listed. Will they work?

I appreciate all and any help. Thanks a ton.

If you have no lift and want to put 33x12.5x15 tires, you can not use 15x10 wheels unless they have 4.5 or 5" BS. They will hit the fenders and need too much cutting to make them fit.
It would be easier to fit them on 15x8" rims, I thinkk 3.5" BS would do, you might end up needing to still cut the corners of the fenders just a little, but most likely if your springs are not too tired, you should fit them fine.

Hrmm...

It sounds as though I'd be better off doing a lift first (since I want to do one in the future anyways) then I'd have more options wheel/tire wise.

Thanks for the help.

It depends on which brand lift you go with and how you want to go but:

Generally, a good 4-6" lift isn't going to help your tire clearance issues much. They flex enough that the tires will find their way right back into the fenders.

A K5 can fit 32's with no lift and no trimming and can fit 33's with very minimal trimming.

There is a sticky in the garage showing different lift heights with different tire sizes. Try checking there and using the search for more info.

There is also a difference in wheel widths as to how much trimming he will need, he wants 10" wide rims which means he will need to trim a lot.
With lifts 4-6" most will clear a 33 and even a 35 with no trimming.
