Just got the new wheels and tires mounted up on my 72 chevy. Went with 35'' thornbirds since I plan on lowering it some when the rain stops. I thought they would look really small but its not as bad as I thought. Just thought I would show off my new rubber and I know everybody likes pics.

Cheapest tire I could find in a 16.5'' wheel that was 35'' other than pro-comps and they werent aggressive enough tires. I had to have tires now and couldnt find anything else reasonably priced. Les schwab was a joke on there prices & the local places I go to wont sell swampers. The shipping killed most of the internet deals except where I ordered from. I didnt want to spend more than $1100 to $1200.

It came down to the thornbirds in 35'' or TSL's bias-ply in 36''. Im going to a 6'' lift so the 36'' were to big. I couldnt find a set of 15 or 16'' rims reasonably priced so I had to stick with 16.5'' for now.

Yeah it is. It has 73-87 8'' lift springs with a 7'' shackle. It moved the axle back some. I have new 67-72 6'' lift springs for it to fix that.

Enjoy throwing mud all up the sides and top of your rig with those tires lol....

Dont wheel in the mud with the windows down either or your gonna get it to the face.

Use some good wheelspeed and the thornbirds arnt too bad. They are noisy as hell and if they didnt come with my truck i wouldnt have em

When you decide to go bigger......

I got four 39/14.5-15 Pitbull Maddogs from 4ws.com for ~950 shipped and four 15x8" steel wagon wheels from Summit for ~175 shipped for my Burb last summer when I was building it.

Are those the rare 7-lug Chevy wheels?:D

Back on track, truck looks good!

Thats where I got my thornbirds and leaf springs from. Cheap prices and shipping, but took three weeks to get them. The tires were $1050 shipped and I got the brand new wheels for free from my brothers friend.

I would have went with a bigger tire but the 37's rubbed bad and Im not ready to break out the sawzall just yet.

And yes those are the rare 7 lug chevy wheels. The hard part was finding a set of 7 lug differentials so I could run them.:D

Damn that's crazy the shipping took so long. I think I got mine in like 4 days haha. I shipped them to my work so I saved big on doing commercial address. The guys at my office looked at me funny when a truck unloaded a pallet of huge tires outfront with a forklift.
