Finally got it all welded up. Buddy of mine did the welding so it'll stay together /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif (I can't weld)

Still gotta do some grinding and wire wheeling to smooth everything all up to paint it. Get some bolts and mount the winch up. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Holy yellow steering parts batman!!!!!!!!

Well my 350 was pretty worn out so I did that to help out /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif Actually my steering arm was yellow and I bought some rear u-bolts that were yellow so I just made it all match /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Cause I like yellow.

As far as gusseting the fairlead mounts. I'm not sure if I need to or not. I don't know how much forward or rearward pressure it ever gets. What do you guys think? It's 1/4" plate by the way.

Cool mount. How thick is the plate and how strong is the winch. Reason I ask is that with that span between the rails, you might want to put a piece of angle under the back side to keep it from levering up as the winch tries to roll forward...

I finally finished a multimount for my 9500hsi right before the last run...

It's 1/4", and a 9500 Ti is going on it? How should I brace it up for that exactly? This is my first real kinda fab project /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

It's probably just fine, but I would probably put a piece of 1/4 x 2 (or so) angle on the back side. Maybe turned "V" over the rear bolts to keep someone from stealing it. Stitch weld it to the plate and it will give "height" in 3D to stabilize the flat back plate AND close off the back winch bolts from thieves...

so just lay a piece of angle longwise across the back of the plate and that will brace it up? I was kinda looking for some anti-theft tips any body else?

when you bolt it to the frame, i would recomend running the bolts through the opposite way you had it shown. buy bolts with a 1/4 or so without threads. that way the threads of the bolt do not dig into the frame. it will make the holes in the frame stay round, and not egg shapped. just my $.02

ahh ok I got it baddog the guy that did the welding for me explained it to me. Thanks I'll prolly do that just to make sure.

GMCLegacy thanks I was planning on running some bolt like that with no threads in that area.

Anybody else anti-theft tips?? /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

For anti theft tips I would put a small ring on the mount so its conveneient to hook the rotweillers leash. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Looks nice. Good job.

I think the yellow parts look familiar!
