I just picked up a 1999 Suburban for a winter beater last night. I spent some time driving it around last night and this morning making a list of little issues.

I noticed the running boards didn't fit right any more. They have some damage and missing screws. So, I pulled them off...

and broke out the fiberglass repair tools.

Now they fit perfectly.

Good one :waytogo:

I plan on picking up a cheap winter beater just like you did. Is that your Camaro in the background? I've got one too

The Camaro is my wife's daily driver and the reason for picking up the Suburban. She grew up in So Cal and doesn't want to risk damaging the car. The Mustang is my daily driver...

How do you guys like the new gen Camaro's? Haven't driven one yet but looks like blind spot on the B pillar?

It is a great car and it does have a good size blind spot. But, nothing that the mirrors won't cover. Ours is a 2SS RS w/ 424 HP and a 6 spd manual. So, it really gets up and goes.

Yup its got some big blind spots but what 2 door coupe doesn't? Mirror placement is key, not to mention the backup camera is a HUGE help. Otherwise the car is amazing. I get a thumbs up almost every time I drive it. Its lightning fast and handles like a dream. :D The '12s and '13s have the best features and have most of the new model quirks worked out. Rumor has it that the '14 Camaros are getting the LS7

What new features came out in 12 and 13?
Yeah, that ZL1 would work!

For '12:
-upgraded sway bars
-upgraded shocks
-new steering wheel
-new instrument cluster font
-body color ground effects
-45th anniversary edition available
-ZL1 available
-upgraded syncos and blocker rings on later '12 models
-V6 version received significant internal engine upgrades

For '13
-Chevy MyLink infotainment with available navigation
-slightly different wheels
-new edge-less rear view mirror
-duel mode exhaust available on SS
-ZL1 convertible available
-1LE package available

I think that's all I can remember off the top of my head.
