Hello,
My name is Mike. I have a '70 Blazer that my Grandfather bought new. It's got the 350, wide ratio 4spd. It's pretty clean. Gramps took good care of her. Plans include motor upgrade. The last guy that did a motor overhaul took advantage and gave him a low hp 350 and kept the original block . Also need to do upholstery. The Nevada sun did a number on the seats. I've already put a 4" lift and 35's on it. Thanks for reading.

Sounds like a cool truck Mike, where have you been the last 4.5 years?

Well......... been working on other projects. In the middle of restoring the El Camino right now. The Blazer isn't really on the back burner, it's just that everything I want to do is big bucks. Not only that, I don't plan on ever getting rid of it (they will have to pry the keys out of my cold, dead hands). Have to make a few more posts before I can add pics.

lets try it again.

Very nice! That is BY FAR my favorite grille on the first gens! Love that big bow-tie on the hood!

Got 35's. 67-72 is my favorite chev truck body. Pestered grandpa to give it to me since I was a kid. He used to put chocks under the tires so I could pretend I was driving:D Countless road trips and memories tied up in this truck.

Will take more pics tomorrow. Ran out of daylight.

Need to replace the emblems. It says K/5 Bla on the left fender. :D I'm pretty lucky. It really doesn't need much other than minor stuff like headlight bezels and badges on the outside. Inside is a different story.

I need to come up with a way to reinforce the rear bumper. I have one of those high lift jacks. I was testing it out and the bumper bent where the jack was. fortunately the bumper was already damaged, so no big deal. I want to figure it out before I spend big coin on a new one, tho.

that rig is beautiful!!does that spotlight come out thru the a-pillar or the front quarter panel?

It is in the pillar. It was a dealer add-on. Still works, but the plastic handle is rotten. I would like to replace the handle, but have the feeling that I'll have to get the whole setup.

welcome man,

the blazer looks good, Looks like a nice one just to drive around and not mess with

Yeah, looks good but needs mechanical help. According to my Grandfather, it's got somewhere in the neighborhood of 350,000 miles. Trans and t/case need overhaul. I'm gonna keep it pretty well stock. I like the color, so it's staying. Just doing interior and mechanical, mostly.

I would be very concerned about the tires smashing the fenders.

Kinda close on the rear, but doesn't rub. I haven't taken off-road. Might be an issue climbing rocks.

It sits high in the front. when I got the lift springs, the guy at 4wheel parts was going to sell me blocks for the rear, but my axle sits on top of the springs. Any 1st gen owners have thoughts on this?

IIRC, my ubolts were pointing down, but the springs were on top of the axle. Been awhile. Not too hard to move the spring perches if they are on the bottom :dunno:

Ok.... I musta been smokin' somethin' :smokin2:. The axle IS under the springs. Anyway, you can see the stance in the first pic. 2" block will fix it.

Anyway, here's a couple of better pics:
