I bought my 76 K20 back from my brother and immediately swapped a Road Demon Jr on it that my oldest brother had from a failed project Blazer. Anyhow, my problem is that when I try to use the riser adapter for my 14" open element air cleaner it contacts the choke linkage butterfly that sticks out on the carb neck. Just to get the truck back from virginia we notched the plastic riser to clear the clip. However, I cannot figure out what I need to use to clear this linkage clip. On Barry Grant's website they talk about Rush air cleaners being designed to work with all BG carbs. I jumped onto Jegs and their air cleaners are almost $85 :eek1: Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives to these air cleaner assemblies?

junk yard find is easy to get.

go find a tbi fuel injected truck and grab the air cleaner spacer from it. its like 2"-3" of lift for cleaner.

this might work for you. and it has a pcv hose barb on it so you dont need to punch holes in your base.

the edlebrock brand ones from autozone, checker etc... are notched out for clearance. Thats what I had to go with on mine.
