Ok so I have an axle question. Will a Dana 44 and Corp 12 bolt with aftermarket heavy duty axles, ring/pinion etc be as strong as a stock Dana 60, and 14 bff? I know the 60 and the 14 are better but I was curious if a beefed up 44 and 12 would be near the strength of a bone stock 60 and 14.

I am in the process of deciding which route to take. I plan on running 35's, 6 inch lift and roughly 400 hp/400tq and doing mild off roading. I already have the 44 and the 12 so I was curious if I should just stick with my current axles and just beef them up.

Thanks!

Everyone's going to tell you that it will never be as strong. In theory yes, but in practicle application, no. I say beef up your 1/2 tons and be different! Plus you stay lighter and with more ground clearance. Plus 35"s are generally the limit for 1/2 tons so i think you are good to go!

i have a sf 14 and 44, i didnt have the fab skills or the money..the 12 bolt, you can beef to a 14 sf most likely, for the 44, its not worth the money you put into it when with that you could be saving for the 60.. save your change!
