if I turn my driveshaft one complete revolution, and my tire turns about 11/2 turns, whats my gearing ?

You need to turn the tire 1 revolution and count the number of times the driveshaft spins. It's not always accurate though.

Well if your numbers are close enough you have 3.08 gears.
It's usually more accurate when you get more revolutions of the driveshaft till you get a full revolution of the tire, and if you have one tire turning, you need to multiply the driveshaft revolutions by 2.
But I am going to say it's safe to guess it's a 3.08.

I am open in the rear so i was trying to turn the wheel and the driveshaft wouldnt always move. so i turned the driveshaft and tried it a few times and still came up with 11/2 tire revolution to 1 driveshaft. I took the rear cover off a few months back when i changed the fluid and found NO markings whatsoever. I guess i could pull the front cover and see for sure.

the proper way is lift one tire off the ground. spin the tire 2 times around, and count the driveshaft revolutions. very easy, very accurate. put marks with chaulk or anything, i've often used just spit to mark it. gm commonly used 3.08, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56. . if you know how fractions work you can judge what gears you have by how the marks end up.

when i go buy a set of axles, this is what i do and i'd bet any amount of money i know what's inside.

I do the same knowing the ratios judging by how close the mark is to a full turn before or after especially between a 3.73 and 4.10
one is just before and one just after the full turn mark.
