Newbie here and I picked up an 87 K5 with 4" lift, rebuilt 350, rebuilt 700r, 31" BFG's, runs great.

There was a different tailgate put on the blazer and it has an elec window and the old one did not. So there are a green wire, a single wire with plug, and a dble wire with 2 prongs on it. I put the green to the neg on a battery and touched a pos on each of the 3 other wires and nothing happened. Window is down and I need to get it up, what am I doing wrong?

Blazer has 4" lift with an additonal 2" lift in the front. I need at least front shocks since there isn't any at all! I see on feebay that there is a set of 4 Highjackers for like $33 each and I can choose 4" or 6" lift for a set. But don't I need a 4" on the rears and 6" on the fronts? Any local parts stores have similar shocks at the same prices?? We have Autozone,Carquest, and Checker.

Driver side valve cover has a rubber gromet and there is a taped off hose by it that runs to the back of the carb, do I just stick it in or is there something that goes there? Wonder why the hose is taped off?

Would like to buy a rear seat in Las Vegas area. Thanks.

Can't remember the wiring on the window, I got rid of mine a while ago. However, you can disconnect the cable from the motor and run it up with a drill to get by until you get it hooked up.

Do I take off the panel thats on the inside and then is it clear about the cable?

Sounds like the PCV valve goes in there , if you dont already have one.

Yeah take off the inside panel and there should be a cable running from the electric motor to the mechanism that rolls the window up. Unscrew it from the electric motor and you can use a drill on it. I had to do it for a year with my old K5 because I was too lazy to fix the motor.;)

Cool, thanks 79shortbox, and I believe the pcv valve is on the passenger side????

Just be careful not to overtorque that cable... I.. *ahem* know someone who made a mess out of thier cable by using a 1/2" drill that he happened to have handy at the time. LMC to the rescue!

Going from memory, the double plug will be up and down, and the motor is grounded to the tailgate. Once you have the cover off you should see a ground wire and a plug that goes into the motor with 2 terminals on it. Since I have a 73 and was using an 80-something tailgate I ended wiring the whole thing up myself using some relays and a toggle in the dash. I love how its setup now.
