Who here has put new model Chevy truck and suburban seats into their K5s? Mine is a daily driver so I want it to be comfortable, and I need new back seats from even just a safety standpoint with my two little ones in car seats. That back seat sucks for car seats, the seat belts aren't set up good for them and there are no anchor points. I like the seats with the built in seat belts, yes I know the floor will have to be beefed up, not a problem I work in a sheet metal shop.

I have been searching the junkyards but have not found what I am looking for in decent enough condition, not even ones really worth reupholstering. Luckily some stuff has recently popped up on craigslist and they are exactly what I am looking for, and the prices are right.

Has anyone that has installed these seats had any issues? My main concerns are the center hump in the front, and finding a good way to mount the rear seat. I am hopefully going to pick them up after work tomorrow, that is unless someone here claims it will bring on the apocalypse.

I picked up the front seats yesterday, they aren't perfect, but can't be beat for $120. They need a new plastic piece on the console and I will eventually get the front and back reupholstered in something that I like a bit more. I couldn't help myself once I got them home so I took out the passenger seat and center console do I could put in the new ones. Looks like they are going to fit perfect.

On another note, how hard is it to reupholster these? I have the new skins...how hard is it to change them?

Those look great!

I have heard mixed stories about reupholstering seats. I tried once, a long time ago, and it was a nightmare. I'm sure more handy people think it's easy.

Personally, I'd either leave them or hire a pro.

I now have my front and rear seats. I have just been ripping out the interior and taking care of rust, etc. to prepare it for bed lining. It has been put on the back burner a little bit because I was prepping and then swapping a new motor into it that I will hopefully finish hooking up tonight. I am in a bit of a hurry to finish up the interior and get these seats in so I am thinking about buying these http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-2011-Uni...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336b8a41ee They are a little pricey, and I do have the ability to make something myself, but these should save me a lot of time and head ache. Anyone else used these?

Yes. But bolt those brackets in, and then the seats simply go in? Am I missing something, besides the fun in measuring and all that?

Yeah, looks like you bolt them in and then pop the seats in and you are done. The only thing that I don't like about them is they stick out, and if I built them I was going to recess them into the floor.

So all you have to do is cut a hole in the floor and mount those inverted. ;)
