i got a new DD and tow rig. 06 f350 6 speed, 6.0 diesel. ya, i know it's not a chevy, but they don't make manual tranny's any more. needed a replacement for my 1/2 ton silverado and wanted a bigger truck.

it already has a leveling kit on it and a new intake should be here this week. an exhaust will be next.

hey i wouldnt fool with the intake man the stock donaldson filter intake is the best filter on the market unless you are over 400-450 hp, get a 4" exhaust and a sct and custom tunes farm boys diesel has some good kits for the price about 350 for a 4" turbo back

here is a video of mine

i ordered the intake because the stock filter costs $70 to replace and it's a pain to get it in and out. the intake only cost $220. after 3 stock filter changes i'd have it bought, now i'll have a washable filter and never have to buy one again.

for the exhaust, i have to see what emsions stuff i'm going to need. my county here in PA. is about as bad as california. i was gonna get the mrbp 4" with the cat delete and if i had to put the cat back on for inspection. now i see they have a 5" exhaust. i want it loud.

you will have to buy a turbo from dusting it with a crappy filter if you bought one did you get the afe it is the best one for dieselsbut is 400 and amsoil sales a air filter for the 6.0l for 48.00 and it is the donaldson rebadged you should be able to get at least 30 to 40k miles out of the stock filter under normal driving conditions they can hold up to 3 pounds of dirt and if the filter minder is not showing red it is fine

the ford just ran out of warranty and 2 dealers said nothing was wrong with it and would not fix the coolant blowing out of it. so we started looking for used dodges, and then figured why not get a new one for just a little bit more then a decent used one.

i realized that today, about the dates, for all the longer i owned the ford. i really liked it, just couldn't keep coolant in it.

My brother in law just bought a used 2005 2wd with the 6.0 and auto.
He got the exended cab:doah:
My wife had to go with him and his wife and she had the rear seat, she said she will never go with him again.
I don't understand people that buy the ext cab for more than hauling your stuff inside.
How do the autos stand up to the diesel power in these truck do you know?

i did alot of thinking and reading about the autos on cumminsforum and the dieselgarage. everyone says with stock power they will last, but add a tuner and if you beat on it, it won't last.

i test drove a 08 with the auto and didn't care for it, seemed like it shifted up way to fast and not fast enough down. i was going to get a auto so if the wife had to drive it she could, but have since decided she just needs to learn to drive a manual. i told her i'd buy an auto if she payed the for rebuild in 100k.

i run my trucks kinda hard and this may end up with a programmer on it also, so if the clutch goes, i can do that myself. from what i have read also, with mild power added on the manuals the clutches won't hold to a beating either.
