Finally had to break down and get a bike. Not what I wanted, but it will work for now. 93 Virago 750.

Managed to pick it up from a dealership... talked them down from $2500 to $1700 and they are fixing the fork seals for free.. they wanted $600 origionally. Only thing it really needs is tires... Luckily they were on sale. $250 for Dunlops, installed on front and rear. 22k miles on it.

I got about 100 miles on it so far rides great even with the fork seals shot.

no kidding. my uncle still has his. from new. I used to bomb around on it when I learned to ride. my brother still has a scar on his leg from the hot pipe :doah: but he was little at the time.

nice score.

Glad to see someone has used them before, I've heard the Viragos were popular, but don't know anyone who has had one. I know my H-D's, but nothing about Yamahas. I haven't got to put any miles on it this week as I sent it back for tires and some other stuff, but doesn't matter too much, we've had snow, rain, and cold the whole time.

The best part of the experience so far is finding the Virago version of CK5! Just like here almost every question you can think of is already answered or will be quickly if you ask.

Nice bike! I had an 87 1100 Virago; that thing would run like a bat out of hell! I sold it only because I got a V Star 1300, which is an excellent bike too!

i had an '87 750 as well. it was a nice little bike. great for around town, enough grunt to go on the highway, and low maintenance.

I've heard great things about them being low maintenance. Looking forward to that. More cash to put into the K5! lol
