Newly-Rebuilt 700R4 Blew After a Month

conv units hold tons of junk and need correct flush or swap out if trashed auto .

and as said check lockup function . if not locking = heat = death .

and tv cable is fast death for them .

Torque converter came loose. He said he's never had that happen before. I'm just glad it wasn't something I did. I'd hate to be out another $1300.

He's taking care of it now, and I should have it back next week. *fingers crossed*

Interesting...did it make any crazy noises? I had 1 flexplate/torque conv bolt come loose and it knocked against the block lightly (sounded like a loose rod) but the other two held. It's possible that he put one bolt in, got distracted and forgot the other two? Probably took a months worth of driving for the one bolt to loosen and depart. Just a theory - Unless something internal in the torque conv.

Ya he said internals in it let go and cloged the filter thats why it quit

Hmm I am wondering if he actually replaced the converter? Or if he used a rebuilt converter? I had a guy rebuild one for me one time and he told me a price to rebuild and install NEW converter. When it was finished u. Checked the converter and all he did was put a new coat of paint on the old converter and reused it. I had used a punch to make some identifiable marks on the old one
