Next project..

Other than just making it harder to reach bolts, an AC doesn't get involved with changing the heater core. Only hard part of changing heater core is the one bottom bolt. It's under the AC housing, real close to the inner fender. But a little patience you can get it with a 1/4" drive socket without pulling the inner fender.Just be sure to get vacuum lines back in the right place when reinstalling.

Losthills, you need to get familiar with the search options. Just sayin.

Here's a recent thread I did on heater core replacement. It's a quick read and I broke it down to the basics of what needs to be done.

There are a few more links to other threads in there as well.

It's not an overly difficult job by any means, and no special tools needed.

Oh, yeah, don't take it personal. I was just giving you a jab.

I'm never the one to say "It's on the site just look it up" which is why I gave the link for the write up I did.

Anyway, I hope it helps you out. :waytogo:

Take your time and do it on a warm day! Much easier if you take a few hours to get it done all the way. I opted for the all copper looking core vs. the aluminum core. I think I got the copper one at O'Reily's for $26.

Couple of tips:
I unbolted the inner fender wheel well and pulled it down from the fender. I was able to gain access to the two bottom nuts on the bottomside of the firewall much easier.

Once you get the whole heater box out, there are two obvious screws that hold down the core. But there are also two more on the other end of the core....but they are under the foam perimeter strip.

Be gentle separating the box. The rod that holds the blending door goes all the way through on one side but the other side goes into a "small pocket". You can pull on the housing enough to get the small pocket side to separate.

Just take your time so you don't break any plastic. Good luck!
