Nice 1 Ton

This doesn't look like a newish crate engine to me...

I have two negative and two positive comments.

1. Why does it have a new crate engine with only 30K on the truck itself? My '81 K30 has 100K+ miles on the original engine..... I wish he would have gone into more detail of why it needed a new engine at 15-25K (he doesn't mention how many miles it's been in there).

2. It's an '80..... kind of a red headed step child year, but at least it doesn't have the square lights in the 70's clip.

1. Super clean, I love to see people that take care of these trucks and actually fix them back up, instead of just beating them up.

2 So far, good price!

was that an origional paint scheme in 80 with the chrome trim strip? also the grille is aftermarket.

im really diggin the crewcab...that thing looks pretty good. i wonder what his reserve is...

No. That sceme is the '81 and newer one. Even the trim is newer Silverado, too.
Grille looks factory but I don't see the bowtie emblem. I know LMC offers grilles w/o the emblems, so maybe this is one of them. Other than that, its the same factory shape and style though.

Actually, the square headlights in 1980 are fairly rare--they were a late 1980 only deal, and I personally thought they were ugly as hell. But I also remember intensely disliking the new for 1988 body style at the time.

I believe the square headlights on '80s were only for Silverado's and Cheyennes maybe? I've seen them on just about every Silverado in that year. The lesser trimmed trucks had round headlights. I've got an '80 CD C20 outside with round lights. I've had two '80 K10's with square and both were Silverados.

Well, regardless of which package or what not got the square lights....one thing is for sure and that is that they are FUGLY!

That truck is a Silverado up for auction, without square headlights, I have no idea why some have and don't have them.

Oh, lets not forget the infamous 205 slip yoke for that year only...
