Nice Blazer...err...but Why?

Doesn't look permanent to me...

That hardtop was a very rare accessory on the 1st Gens. It's a hard top with a sail panel that goes all the way down to the rear floor to seal the area behind the seats.

The best part of the early Blazers is the full convertible top, so I'm always mystified why someone would add a top like that... Especially since the bed area is so small (especially with that big toolbox) that it's basically useless.

i had a half top that was removeable.not sure if that one is or not.i just sold mine last summer because it doesnt cover the rear and i have too many kids to not take them.that one is pretty clean.looks stock height and not molested like mine was when i bought it.i think they did a good job of it.

I think it's pretty cool. The early Bronco guys fall all over themselves for a "half cab", which is basically what this Blazer is. I probably wouldn't do it, but it would be way more fun to drive that Blazer than some small pickup.

from the pics, it does look removable, but the ad does say "converted to an pickup" so it may be a conversion too.

there was a guy around here (slc, ut) back in the 90's that was doing this to first gens and selling them. I talked to him and told him I thought it was a waste, but he countered that he only did it on blazers with shot windshield frames. he said it was just to hard to find a good donor windshield frame. :dunno:

I have seen guys take parts of a pickup cab and put em together with a blazer to get just that.

Buddy had a pretty rust free 71 pickup cab, but the cab floors on his blazer were rotted out and the top was severly damaged, he combined them and came up with just that

thats a big wench for sure.haha.that is definitely the fiberglass half top from the way the seals and no top rail over the frame on the door windows.so it is removable.it was called a pickup conversion because of the bulkhead that sealed the bed under the top to allow use of the bed like a pickup truck.same as some people have done on the newer blazers with the rear cab blockoff conversions.
