Haven't updated in a while because I've had the truck under the cover for about a month, but just took her out and fixed up the fender, did some trimming and ready to fab up a bumper. Still haven't decided what look I'm going for, but I'm thinking a modified version of what boz42 had in his prior years. I'll be mocking it up with some cardboard over the next week. Also bought a new hood, but of course the holes didn't match up with the hinges, so I'll be out at Summit Racing early next week to pick up some hood pins. That's about it for an update. Oh and also picked up some new floor pans off CL and a new battery (old one kept dying on me). Here are the picture updates:
Ok, finally had a chance to breathe from work and making some progress. Ordered the bender and dies. There is a two week lead time for the bender and dies right now, so working on some other stuff in the meantime. Ryerson is fabing a portion of the front bumper for me. Front end is going to look a lot like Boz42's old rig, but with some slight modifications. Really liked that look. Here is the design from Ryerson for the middle portion:
Made some progress this weekend and got about half way thru the front bumper. Finally got all the pieces to my JD2 Model 3 bender and will be picking up tubing in the next day or two to finish it up and start the cage. Pretty pleased with how my measurements turned out from the fab shop.
Well I've had the metal and bender sitting for a few weeks, but haven't been able to begin bending tube. Didn't realize how much cutting was involved with the 73-75 to clear the under body and prep for the rockers/cage. Finished with the driver side, just gotta get around to the passenger side. Next pictures will be the B Pillar and front half of cage and seats installed (I promise).
Unfortunately it's been sitting like this in hiding since the last post. Been too tied up, but just keeping it running until I get the time to do the cage and finish the bumpers. I did get around to rebuilding the 8274 though, which was a fun project.
