NJ giving up emissions testing on many

What does a tilt test even do? Does your exhaust come out tilted as well? I honestly do not know, I have never personally owned an OBD2 vehicle, and since IL doesnt have safety inspections either, I have never even had my truck looked at by a "trained and sertified gubment agent" of any sort. ever

If you look back a few posts, yo'll see Rootbreaker posted up a couple pictures showing it. Basically you drive in w/ one side up on a sloping curb. Pass side wheels are on scales and they measure the weight transfer. Too much weight shift =too flexy for the road and they'll fail you.
 
what I didn't like about the tilt test is them checking all kinds of cr@p they gave up checking at regular inspection years ago.. lights, front end, underhood visual, etc... tilt test is one thing, but it seems like double jeopardy checking the other stuff that regular cars no longer got checked for... too much damn discretion.. that's why I hadn't gone to a state inspection in 30 yr's.. too many power trippin idjits failing someone on a whim for stoopid chit... shift indicator is off, rust edge, etc..... have a big STFU....
 
Just when I thought Illinois was the breakaway leader in gubment stupidity, NJ manages to atleast sort of keep up. Thats literally the stupidest thing I have seen. But, thats what the gubment is designed to do, create chaos, deposit cash. Good example here, I have drove trucks around town with no fenders, no hood, and the radiator balancing on its hoses holding the electric fans up, cop waves, get caught smoking in the car and tossing the butt out, or smoking with your kid in the car (personal choice, should NOT be a law anywhere), the Swat team is dispatched.

they made me get rid of my zero rates.. told me front blocks are illegal and dot would tow my truck. I politely said they are add leafs and not a block. he looked at me and said...
really man! look at it.. it is not the thickness of a leaf.

I said... Yeah but the company that sells them as add leafs and they bolt to the springs, blah blah blah...

he told me to take them off or I will never pass.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

yeah, I remember.. decided not to bring that one up.. I woulda thrown a sh*tfit on the dude...
 
Got my renewal notice in the mail. Going to go head down to the dmv and get it registered up... should get my sticker then.

now I took the truck to a shop and they have been dragging their feet. On their defense they know I am waiting for the emissions exempt part so they are not rushing to finish.
They are going to do a setup of ALL...
another words start with timing, choke, air fuel screws and all that to get it to run good.

If I am not happy with how it runs I am going to get another truck avenger as this truck ran great with one. I will put one back on it and get it to run with that....
 
so I went to the dmv and renewed my registration... and they don't know anything about the sticker. GRRRR they said other people have mentioned it but she doesn't have the stickers.. she said they are state owned and the other group is a different division or whatever. Damn...

so no sticker yet.

wonder how I am to get the sticker?????

no, no sticker.... scrape it off, and just keep the paper in the glove box...
