no alternator

i bought a powermaster 160amp alternator and it stopped working to day, it is only a month or two old, when i turn the key off it is making a buzzing noise like power is feeding through it and it will not cuton i tried to jump the wires but nothing

what could have happened is it just a bad alt

have you talked to POWERMASTER? maybe there is a problem they are aware of.

ditto on that one.i had one that was doing that but it was also backfeeding power through the ignition.it was a bad diode in the alternator.
