ok, im new to this forum stuff so bear with me if i couldnt find a similar problem. i got the truck 3 months ago. it had sat for 3 years with a bad tranny. but was well maintained prior. checked the oil, coolant etc, put in a battery, fired right up, on 3 year old fuel! rebuilt the tranny, drove great. put 10 gallons of fresh fuel in it( was almost empty), drove for 2 days, was doing about 35, started sputtering and bogging down. got it home, drained the tank, new filter and plugs, still bogs down. checked for a code cause the light came on for about 2 minutes the first time, not since. nothing. any suggestions as to what to check? its a 5.7 tbi

also check the cap and rotor, they like to corrode badly and cause the spark to jump inside the cap.

I'd be willing to bet that since it was sitting so long, there's a little varnish gumming up somewhere in the fuel system.
