My truck has been vibrating like hell lately! I took it in to Discount Tire and they rebalanced and rotated the tires. Each tire was off 1 to 3 oz's! But it still vibrated so I put the blazer up on jack stands and went sniffing, I had my wife start the truck and put it in drive. Jeeezis, the driveshaft coming out of the slip yoke was bouncing up and down and wobbling about an 18th to 1/4 inch, the balance weight was missing. I'm gonna go down to my new special top secret junk yard and pick up a new driveshaft and see what happens. Otherwise I'll hafta get a new yoke welded on huh? So if you can't figure out vibrations, this might help you out a little.

That jeep thing? Yah I understand it....... Like my Blazer? http://community.webshots.com/user/blazerk5

Why not just get your current driveshaft balanced??
Why deal with used maybe rusted internally u-joints and any other crap that may be wrong with it.

Cos I'm thinking the way this thing wobbled it was out of round. I took it out and it has all kinds of flats spots and grooves in it. Kind of ugly looking.

That happens quite often to rear 4WD shafts that are actually used off-road rather than at the mall. You can get it retubed (and ballanced) with heavier, larger tubing and your good to go. Just make sure the weld the weights on real good so they don't get knocked off. Another factory shaft will get whacked again.
