no fire

My 79 350 is not getting any fire, any ideas where to start,

Maybe the lil dealio thingy inside the dist. Electronic gizmo that has 2 connections at each end. Sorry if I'm talking over your head. Not to toot my own horn but I'm really knowledgable in this ignition stuff as you can see.

Check ur coil. cap and rotor for corrosion. and battery connections. also the wire from ur starter to the coil.

Thanks, I did see some corosion, and tried to scrape it off, maybe I need a new one.

either the coil is bad. or hte pickup coil is bad. (what mudstud was describing)

Thanks all, I just finished, I have a 79 new rebuild, w/ a 86 ES HEI, that I jumped wires and made a regular HEI; never was a 100% that it was the corect way to do it, but it worked for 8 months. Anyway I put a new HEI,cap,coil,rotor, and now I have spark.
