i have an 89 k5. i recently upgraded to 8 lug 10 bolt and a 14sf bolt in the rear as well as adding a 6 in lift and 35's. now once in a whle i get a wobble in the front tires. they both wobble back and forth and keep getting more violent until i slow down or stop then im usually good to go and they dont do it again. usually only happens when i first start driving. also i notice the pitman arm was slidding off so i pushed it back up and tightened it. seems to happen a little less often. nothin is bent so im not sure. maybe pitman arm has something to do with it? thanx

Make sure you have a good steering stabilizer, just a single is all i use. i had the same prob and i put a new one on and it solved my probs. Also worn steering parts will cause that also. make sure everything is tight.

Just a newb trying to help out

check your bearings in the hub.make sure they didnt come loose for some reason.check your steering arm also.it should be almost level with the frame.did you get a dropped pitman or a raised steering arm.in any case a 6 inch lift would require the use of those and if it is not enough to bring the steering geometry back close to nomal the steering will be off and get a wobble.check your balljoints also.the additional load they are carrying with the 35's could be enough to cause that if they are wearing out also.a good sterring stabilizer will help also as was said.but if something else is wearing out,its good to look for that also.good luck.

Balljoints, TREs, draglink, can all cause it.
Also, now that you are running wider/bigger tires, alignment comes to be a bigger factor. If you toe-in about 1/8" it may help also.

i'm running pro comp x terrain tires 35 by 12.5. steering seems tight, nothing seems bent. i can tell after seeing some fluid leek out of the steering stabilizer i need a new one. and i think i need a taller pitman arm. i still need to look at the rest of what you all said though thanx for the help sandypants

My setup is kind of similar to yours and death wobble has creeped in a couple of times. Replacing the steering stablizer always fixed it.

i had the same problem a while back i had a bad leak from my steering box and my steering stabilizer was shot to hell. fixed them both problem solved.
