no Key

I can start my truck with no key and when i do use the key i can take it out when its started what is up with that.

Mine wont start without the key but you can take the key out while its running. Kinda fun to freak out my friends when we're driving down the road and I pass the keys over.

You mean lock cylinder. Ignition switch doesn't stop the key from turning.

I let my buddy drive my rig one time when we went wheelin, and the keys came out of the ignition, and slapped him in the face

Me four! My Dad's '85 C10 has this "problem"

That's normal wear but it's only a $20 fix and about a half hour of your time, five minutes if you've done it before.
