I found out from another thread that the loose wire on my 87 was the O2 sensor. Since I got rid of cat some 5 yrs ago. I have had no o2 sensor hooked up and the Ghost runs great. I would assume its running rich, does this really make a difference. Should I hook it up or not worry about. Also what intales to try and hooking it up to my straight pipes, if there is no place to do it.

The 02 sensor screws into the driver side exhaust manifold. If your manifold has no provision for it then someone has changed the manifold. You can have a muffle shop weld an 02 bung into the exhaust pipe just below the manifold flange.

Fuel injection needs an 02 sensor to operate properly. Without an O2 sensor the ECM automaticly goes into limp home mode. Yes it will run ok but it is usualy runs rich. Without the 02 you wont get full timing advance, gas milage is much worse, and lower overall performance than if the 02 is hooked up.
The ECM must have input from the 02 to set proper fuel /air mixtures. It is one of the main sensors TBI needs to run right.
