No power driving up hill

Yes water works, you have to be carefull not to stall the engine.
Just slowly dribble water into primaries while holding throttle open above 2k rpm, as you add water it will slow down, stop adding water before it stalls.
I always used a paper coffee cup, Not a lot of water is needed, and cup can be creased to control the pour.
After you finish adding water keep the rpm up for a few more seconds, even a couple of revs. Then let it run for a few more minutes to be sure all the moisture is evaporated.

Yeah it works, I did it on a couple of vehicles.
The were pinging no matter what I did with the timing and putting high octane fuel solved it, so I knew it was carbon deposits in the heads.
After the water injection it was good
 
If your ride has a catalytic converter this can aid in clogging it up because it is such a very effective method of dislodging of carbon buildup - also this can be done with some ATF because it has very high detergent properties but there will be so much white smoke that your neighbors from three blocks around will be calling the fire department ( a second warning that there will be more smoke than you could possibly imagine - THERE WILL BE SMOKE EVERYWHERE ).

Both water and ATF work exceptionally well for this but it’s a bit of a risk if you’re not VERY careful of how much is dribbled in because these fluids do not compress and bad things can happen quickly - be very cautious!

I ended up just using sea foam lol
 
Do you know if a 700r4 transmission from a 1991 Chevy s10 4x4 pickup will work in my 1982 k5 blazer?
If the S-10 has a 4.3 V6 in it then the bellhousing will be a 90* pattern that will work on a V8 and I believe that the tailshaft dimension is common well ( 4WD versions ).
But, there are internal differences such as fewer clutches on the V6 trans - all of this can be adjusted/fixed during a rebuild though and should be.
 
Are you trying to use it as is or rebuild?
I was hoping to use as is. But now I’m thinking maybe I should start with the rear end. I’m not sure where to start to get this truck to go up hills better ‍♂️ I re-routed vacuum lines and replaced most with new tubing today. Truck is running really good and shifts really smooth. Didn’t have time to check rotation of shaft to see what gears I have but I will do that this week or weekend.
 
Gears should be step #1 from here. When do the new tires show up?
New tires installed, I returned the 29” and went to tire shop and got 31” tires installed. I’m going to call a shop today to get price on rebuilding the rear end.

Confirm your gear ratios first so you know what you have and whether its needed (sounds like you need gears though). Of course you will need to regear both front and rear axles so they match
 
If future plans include an overdrive transmission swap, that needs to included in the gear ratio discussion. You want to choose a numerically higher gear for an overdrive than if you stay with th350's 1 to 1

Do you think the th350 has anything to do with power loss going up hills? If not then I will just stay with this setup. I’m only going to use truck around town and camping/hunting trips.
 
Dont think its an issue, but if you open the diffs and you actually have 3.73 or 4.10s in rhere then i would question the condition of trans/torque converter. If you have 3.08’s then its likely just needs better gearing in axles.

Thats why confirming what axle ratio you have is next step.
 
3.73 or 4.10 on 35s would be tough on some of those grades.
Those gears on 31s is a different story. Not to mention the weight savings going to a smaller tire
