no power excessive smoke

I have a 97 chevy 3/4 ton 6.5 it's been a great truck but lately it has no power when tugging my trailer. I have a new air filter and fuel filter. It seems to me that the turbo may not be working ? Any ideas on what or how to check the turbo and any switchs that run it Thanks Denny

check your fuses. i had one blow and it smoked like crazy, had no power and got hot really quik

no prop. hope it is something this simple.
