no power need help?

i have a blazer and when i go to press the gas ot has no power at all and somtimes it back fires ,its like it has no power and all and its sounds like a damn tractor ...haha....well if anybody can help me out it is well apriaciated..............thanks

A little more info would be better. Did this just suddenly start? Is it a q-jet? I'll give it a shot anyway.

Have you tried doing a complete tune-up? Spark plugs, spark plug wires, dist cap & rotor. I also recommend you check your fuel filter and timing with a timing light.

If this doesn't help, maybe your carb needs tuning. Could be the secondaries are opening too fast, causing the famous "quadrabog".

ya i put a new fueul filter in the it startin havin the no power but before that it would keep on dying out ?
