i just had a new motor installed. the guy said it needed a new catalytic converter so i cut it off an still no power. ive replaced the coil still no power. now im thinking its the fuel lines i was told they have holes in them. so before i go replacing a lot of other stuff im wondering if thats the problem. it never had this problem before putting new motor in. when i was driving it home with the bad catalytic converter it lost power the second it got hot could this have fried the computer or made something go out? i dont know what else to do an im running out of cash

If your fuel lines had holes, I do belive you would see gas dripping. You say it has no power only when hot? How does it idle? I would lean towards EGR valve or coolant temp. sensor.
Mine lost power and wouldn't idle this week. This morning I finally got to work on it and the new EGR valve was stuck. Freed it up and she runs just fine now.

As you look at the engine, the EGR valve is on the left side of the TBI. It looks like a diaphram. You can see the actuator rod thru a little window , apply vacuum to the diaphram and see it the rod moves.
The coolant temp sensor is to the left of the thermostat housing.

Honestly, i say take it to a different mechanic. (maybe on that angies list?) Tell them the scoop. Or, if you have any buddys that know about cars and trucks, have them check it over and especially have them check timing with a timing light.
