i figured that, but im playing with another one i had laying around trying ot take it of so i know how ot do it on my truck. how do u get the gear of? is there a pic u push through there or somethin??
You have to pull the distributor out of the motor, drive the roll pin out of the distributor gear on the bottom, remove the distributor shaft and you should be able to get to the pickup coil.
Make sure you mare the exact position of the distributor before you pull it out though.

Yes it's quite important that you mark the gear and shaft so you can put it back in the right position. After you get the shaft out then there are three screws that hold the pick-up coil in place.
well, i swapped cap/coil from my dads truck, and put a good moduale in it, and the roter looks fine, and still nothin..so guess the next thing ot check is the pickup coil...
