Low mileage 6.2 was running good and now won't start. Bled the fuel system, checked trandfer pump pressure, 6.5 psi and holds, swapped the injection pump for a known good one and checked the shutoff solenoid on the new pump. It has 12.8 volts and you can hear it click with the key. The volume from the transfer pump seems a little low, maybe most of a cup of fuel in 10 seconds of cranking. Is that enough? Anyone got any ideas.

What color smoke from exhaust while cranking?

Glow plugs known good, or checked?

Manual GP control, or stock?

Glow plug relay works?

You had cracked the lines at the injectors and waited for fuel to drip from each?

How is the cranking speed? If it isn't turning over quickly it won't create the needed heat on the compression strokes...making for a no start.

Glo plugs are quick heats from Kennedy. They get hot. Still on the auto relay for the plugs but it seems like its working for a long enough time frame.

No smoke from tail pipe. Almost no fuel from injector lines. Its like there isn't enough fuel from the pump to fire the injectors.

Cranking speed is suspect because it turns fast for about 10 seconds and then slows down. It is a 24volt starter but that may change.

I'd crack em once more. You know you have fuel supply, and 6.5 psi sounds about right. A 6.2 will run without a lift pump working as long as there is no air in the lines...the IP has enough suction to draw it's supply all by itself. It's not good for the IP to do that though.

No smoke means no fuel. Double check you don't have a loose clamp or cracked supply line somewhere. If you do it may continue to draw in air...

That gives me an idea. I'll jury rig a small fuel can that drains right into the IP and bypass the rest of the fuel system.
