no start!!

i have a 72 4x4 chev truck with a 327 stock with a quadrajet and hei, it dosent get driven very much, mostly on the weekends, i started it up and pulled it up to the shop to put garbage in it, i reached through the window and shut it off, about an hour later i went to start it and it just cranks, the dist has power, whats the deal?

check for fuel

IF you have fuel, then check for spark at the spark plug by putting a timing light on any plug wire and watch for light flash while cranking. Or, get an old spark plug and remove a wire and put the old plug in it and ground it to the engine while someone cranks and watch for spark.

If their is no spark, the ignition module is probably bad. It is where the points would be if it wasn't HEI.
