So, 1975 blazer.....usually have to pump the gas 2 or 10 times to get it started...... wont start. It started up just fine before I put in a new th350 and 205, and new kickdown cable a few weeks ago, but now nothing.:dunno: .I'm ready to get some starting fluid. I diddnt mess with anything in the engine, except for the kickdown cable to the carb......ideas?

No start is too vauge. Doesn't crank? Cranks and spitters? Cranks and No change? Cranks and fires and dies? Pops when cranking? Etc.

You could have bumped the distributor off or something

Cranks and cranks and cranks,,,,,and cranks. No sputter
You need to see if there is fuel.
May be out of fuel or fuel pump not working.
If you pump the pedal after cranking for a while do you get a squirt or not?
If you do, you have an electrical problem if not even a sputter.

It was smelling like gas, quite a bit. Not even a sputter.but even before today I had to pump the pedal quite a bit before she would start. It went like this=pump the gas a lot then start it, it would try to start then die, repeat those steps until finally it would-catch and stay goin. Now there's just nothing

now your next step is to check for spark pull a plug lay it in something turn it over and see it your getting spark.

after you follow the first step then we can start to think but you always have to check for battery, fuel, spark, timing. First! 90% of problems are here.

CAUTION!
If you've been pumping tons of gas into the engine, you should take all the spark plugs out, DISCONNECT THE COIL, then turn the engine over to blow any leftover gas out of the pistons. Then, when you don't smell a ton of gas any more, go ahead and check for spark.

Can anyone recall why I am saying this? I posted pics of my truck AFTER the fire got put out by yours truly... :doah:
